Mundo MotoDiva is an international team of women from the USA, France and Argentina joining together for a motorcycle journey to bring international awareness to the current conditions of the legendary Silk Road, the issues relating to women and girls, and to explore the physical path traveled by Alexander the Great and Marco Polo in search of the riches and culture of the Far East.

Through the windshields of our off-road motorcycles we plan to learn the secrets of silk farming, the art of tea rituals, and witness the raw beauty of present day trading markets dotted along the Silk Road. Through the lens of the camera we will share our experiences and introduce this amazing part of Central Asia to the world.

We take pride in our fame as female adventure motorcyclists and plan to use our expedition to connect others around the world to this precious part of our shared world heritage, and bring lasting attention to the ongoing needs along the world’s most famous trading route. There is no better cultural or language ice-breaker then a motorcycle, this will be the adventure of a lifetime!

ACCOMPLISHING THE GOAL

  • We will raise International awareness to the needs of local communities along the Silk Road.
  • Through interactive website journals, podcasts, articles, and filmed documentation we will share everything we see, hear, touch, taste and feel. Our goal is to share the stories of those doing the work to preserve this beautiful land and encourage the international community’s involvement.
  • Through the guidance of the UN agencies and other aid organizations doing work in-country, we will ensure that the areas that need highlighting are explored on film and communicated effectively to the world.

  • We will build International youth partnerships and educate children on a global scale
Prior to departure we will partner youth organizations from our representative countries to the aid projects we will visit along the Silk Road. The goal is to build lasting relationships that will exchange knowledge and culture for years to come.
  • Build virtual lessons for school children from around the world to “ride along” on the adventure and ask real time questions pertaining to places we explore.
  • We will promote the ancestral commerce that gave the name to the Silk Road
  • Local wares representative of participating communities will be showcased on a section of the website called the “Virtual Co-op” to enable citizens of the world to view and purchase the modern day treasures found along the Silk Road.
  • We will work with the local co-ops producing these wares and arrange for connections to be made to sell their goods through various fair trade channels.

SHARING THE ADVENTURE OF A LIFETIME

  • Introducing Anne, Erin, Maria and Spice… four courageous women who adventure-travel on motorcycles.
  • Share the humor of being at the mercies of cultures different from your own. “I’m sorry, but what did you say is for dinner?!”
  • Entertain everyone by exposing our strengths and weaknesses and proving that anyone can get on a motorcycle and change the world…along with a tire or two!

THE DOCUMENTARY

The documentary will focus on an entertaining collection of friends who share the joys of exploring the unknown while inspiring others to get involved. We each have a gift for attracting attention and as a result have had plenty of opportunities to chuckle at the unexpected challenges that seem to come our way. We want to document our journey on film and share it with the international community to highlight the value of preserving its ancestral route of trade as well as bring attention to the good work of the development organizations working in that region.

The finished project will be in the form of a television series focusing on the experiences on the road, our visits to established aid projects in each country, and on those interesting local people we meet along the way.

You will see us laugh and you will see us cry. We will share the emotions that come with the challenges of adventure motorcycle travel as well as the emotions that come from witnessing the challenges people face in this part of the world.

We are strong women devoted to encouraging our sisters around the world to keep the faith that times are changing for the better and that someday maybe even they will follow their dreams into foreign lands!
